CV

Professional Summary

I'm a storyteller with a background in marketing, communications and creative writing. That means I can either make a story complicated or really simple! I choose the latter because clear, compelling stories are always the gateway to great conversations, interesting beginnings and successful business propositions.

My first storytelling challenge started with petitioning an increase in the price of ice cream in the 5th grade and on through working with sewage treatment plants right out of college (both of which I've elected to not include in my CV but fodder for an intriguing discussion if you want). From there, I focused on marketing and communications with corporate jobs including speaking at the United Nations Economic and Social Council.  Add stand-up comedy and songwriting and music gigs "on the side" while raising two kids, and you might say that I've learned that no two stories are the same. While anything but typical, these experiences have proven to me just how critical compelling content, good communication, and sound marketing really is to the narrative.

Now, I have the opportunity to help others tell great stories and then do something with them through clear, authentic and relevant marketing and communications.

It's what I really love to do and I hope to help you, your team and/or your organization meet your goals, too.

Thank you very much for your consideration,

Interests

In addition to telling compelling stories with individuals, teams, and organizations, I am also the co-founder of VitalConex, dedicated to developing the vital connections needed for focused, united teams and creative problem-solving (www.vitalconex.com).

You might say that my full-time gig is being a restless creative "outside of the office". As a stand-up comedian, I have performed in clubs and venues internationally and spoken at fundraisers, corporate conferences, and private events on topics ranging from marketing to the hidden superpower of rejection!

An avid writer and musician, I have developed several scripts, songs, three web series, and numerous articles.  My most recent comedy recording, "I'm a Good Dad" (Marc Kaye) is available on Spotify, Apple, Amazon, and many other platforms, and I have recently completed a collection of humorous and poignant essays for publication in 2023 entitled “A is for Awkward: and Other Reflections on Belonging”.

Besides creative pursuits, I enjoy running, hiking, and traveling but my greatest interest is my two children who are an endless source of stories for all the above!
